A Different Kind of Travel

A Different Kind of Travel

Later this week, we will be traveling to Los Angeles for a few days. For us, this trip will be a different kind of travel. It will be a budget trip of eating like locals, not paying for tourist attractions, and enjoying lots of sunshine.

This will be a very interesting trip for us. Not only will we be starting to travel in a way- unlike how we have traveled in the past, but we will also be looking at our travels in a new way. In a way to start preparing us for long term travel. In a way to travel cheaper and better, for longer. As well as, in a way to practice  writing and working on the road. Our trips, from here on out, will be mini practice runs until we leave for the real adventure to travel the world.

Your time, energy and money

Packing will take on another form, as we pack to be efficient and only take what is truly needed. The days of packing more than one bag each and bringing an extra bag for souvenirs is gone. Our packing will become a form of necessity instead of want. It will no longer reflect what was in our luggage of the past.

The way we use our time, modes of transportation and the tourists attractions we see, will all be peculiar from the last time we traveled. Everything about our travels will take on a new life. Our way of traveling will morph to become another way to travel. A way that is cheaper and would keep us on the road longer.

As we get closer to meeting our goal to pay off our debt, we get closer to our other goal to quit the American Dream and take off to travel the world. Each step gets us closer to these goals. Each step illustrates how now is the time to start learning how to travel in different  way. Now is the time to start preparing for our travels.

Have you have experienced a different kind of travel due to financial reasons?
