Introducing Travel Photo Carnival

Introducing Travel Photo Carnival

Welcome to our Travel Photo Carnival! AfterGlobe is starting this Travel Photo Carnival as a way for travel bloggers to present and show off some of their best photography. We’ve seen many of your photos and we know you’ve got mad skills!

This Week’s Theme- Favorite Flora

Travel Photo Carnival

Rainbow Plumeria in Hana Town.

We love taking pictures of all flora we come across on our travels. Especially flowers, plants, and trees that we wouldn’t normally see back home. We will kick-it off by sharing a couple of our favorite with you! Now show us your favorite/best flora photos that you have taken on your travels!

Each round a new theme is chosen and presented for travel bloggers to submit their best/favorite photo for that topic. The host (AfterGlobe this round) of the contest will then select a winner from all of the submissions. Once a winner has been crowned, the Travel Photo Carnival will move to the winner’s site to host and pick their own theme for the next round.

Travel bloggers can submit one entry per website based on the week’s theme. All submissions have one week to be submitted. At the end of that time, the host blogger will select a new winner and the winner than repeats the whole process on their website.

How to Enter

All you have to do is leave a comment below with a link to the image that you would like to submit.  In the comment tell us about your image and why it’s your favorite.  When the comment and photo has been received, they will be added to this article.

Once your image is submitted, share about the Travel Photo Carnival with others. Post it on your Facebook and tweet it out with the hashtag #travelphotocarnival.  That way more travelers will get the chance to participate, as well as giving you the chance to share your photography with even more people. For example- Just entered my best flora photo in the #travelphotocarnival! Enter here- http://wp.me/p364OB-hX

Make sure to check back during the week to see the competition and engage with your components in the comments below.  We’d love to hear what you think of all of the photographs that have been submitted.

This carnival runs for one week, Tuesday June 17th through Monday June 24th. The crowned winner will be announced a few days after submissions have been closed with the carnival being passed on to them to host the 2nd round. All Travel Photo Carnival winners/hosts will be listed on each round along with a direct link to their article.

We can’t wait to see what everyone submits as their entry! Don’t forget to share the Travel Photo Carnival with others and include #travelphotocarnival

Good luck!

  1. I would love to enter, but rule #7 rules me out :-( I hope you get some fantastic entries. All the ones so far are great!

  2. Hey Kimmy!
Here is my submission, featuring a bunch of thistles I found perched above Berat in Albania on my recent visit. This tugged at my wee heart strings as I had been feeling a bit homesick and overwhelmed in Albania, and this emblem of my homeland in Scotland put the smile back on my face :-)
    Hope you like it… http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7327/9096002850_2283675151_z.jpg

  3. This one is my favorite because the bluebonnet is the State Flower of Texas and has an almost cult-like following in the Lone Star State. I love it because it is a hardy wildflower that just grows freely on the side of road, despite the sometimes harsh weather here. I think it’s a good representation of the pioneer spirit in Texas.

  4. Hey guys, here is a link to my submission. It’s a photo of some pansies that are in a basket in my back yard. They’re my favourites because I think they look like little faces! Some great entries here, makes me feel like it’s summer even though it’s raining outside today.

  5. My favourite is this one:

It is one of the few flower photos I took during our three years on Oahu, Hawaii. I loved the flowers but sadly took them for granted knowing they were always there and did not photograph enough of them. My youngest son loves yellow and so when we saw this beautiful bright one in yellow I captured it for him.

  6. Hi!

This is one of my favorite pictures of flowers, because the setting was so cool. At Kalaloch Lodge in the Olympic National Park, there were these little colorful flowers popping up in the sand around the driftwood on the beach. I think it’s a neat representation of spring on the Washington coast. http://goo.gl/l2k6O

  7. So many great submissions! How will I ever pick a winner?! Round 1 of the Travel Photo carnival is now CLOSED! No more submissions will be considered.
