Postcards from AfterGlobe

Postcards from AfterGlobe

Would you like to receive one of many postcards from AfterGlobe? Who doesn’t love getting mail? We are talking old fashioned real mail that’s delivered by the postman to your mailbox. We know we do! It’s always fun to open up your mailbox to find a little something you weren’t expecting.

Our friend, Megan of Where in the World is Megan Claire, runs weekly guessing games of different locations with the winner getting a postcard from her. I love this idea and find it to be romantic, in a way. It’s a way to connect with others that we often forget about in our speed-obsessed world.

Postcards Create Memories

How many times have you deleted more emails than you can count in the click of a button? I know I do this almost every day and don’t even think twice about it. You know what I do still have? The postcards my Grampa use to send me as a child from Alaska with adorable animals on the front and limericks he would make up about each animal written on the back. I cherish those postcards.

I also cherish all of the letter I use to receive from my best friend, Nicki, when we were younger and she moved away. To this day, I still love reading through them. We wrote back and forth to each other until our early 20s. You know why we stopped? Email.

Sending and Receiving Mail

There’s something special about receiving an actual piece of mail these days that isn’t a bill or an ad. You get a little piece of that person sent to you. They took their time and put effort into putting something together just for you. Something you can feel in your hands and actually see their handwriting.

Postcards From AfterGlobe

We love sending postcards to friends and family on our travels.

We like to receive letters, thank you notes, birthday cards, holiday cards, and postcards. We like to send them, too. Because of this, we will now be sending one lucky reader a post card each time we travel somewhere. We will announce all the details on how to throw your hat into the mailbox, so to speak, before each trip on our Facebook page.

It’s satisfying to be able to write a note on a postcard to someone, drop it in the mail, and know in a few days they will receive it. Know that through that postcard you are able to connect with someone and hopefully, bring a little smile to their face. We hope sending out postcards to our readers will do just that! Make you all happy to get a little piece of mail!
