Pride of Maui Sunset Dinner Cruise

Pride of Maui Sunset Dinner Cruise

One of the best ways to experience Maui’s majestic coastline and a meal at the same time is through a dinner and cocktail cruise. While enjoying a fun-filled evening aboard the Pride of Maui, you take in breathtaking views of the beautiful Pacific and incredible sunset. Be entertained by live music and hula, and delight your taste buds with island cuisine and tropical cocktails. All aboard the Pride of Maui for a spectacular night on the water.

We booked tickets on the Pride of Maui for their sunset dinner cruise to hit the water for a few hours of live music, cocktails, and an all-you-can-eat buffet. We wanted to experience Maui not only by land, but also by water in as many ways as possible. We had no idea what the night had in store for us when we pushed off from Maalaea Harbor for our sunset dinner cruise.

Getting ready to leave the harbor.

Our first impression as we boarded the Pride of Maui was how friendly and hospitable the crew was while welcoming us with the spirit of aloha. Next we saw how spacious this Catamaran was with plenty of room to comfortably move throughout and offering ample seating on both decks along with easy access up to the viewing deck. We quickly moved upstairs in order to find the perfect spot to hang out, talk with others, and relax while taking in Maui’s scenic coastline.

We also took a little time to play around.

Open Bar on Pride of Maui

As soon as we were out of Maalaea Harbor the open bar welcomed Pride of Maui’s guests with premium alcohol and non-stop cocktails, beer, and wine. All which are included in the price of your ticket. But, do bring some cash for tips.

Drew took full advantage of the open bar and had a drink in hand, most of the night.

Pride of Maui

It’s always enjoyable to watch the wake behind the boat. You never know what kind of sea life may show up. Such as flying fish or dolphins!

Once we were served our cocktails in the main saloon at the hardwood bar, we decided to stay downstairs for a bit to listen to the soothing sounds of the slack key guitar while watching some hula. Nestled in each others arms and feeling the aloha of the islands, we knew this was a night we’d never forget.

Watching the movements of hula is always mesmerizing.

Sunset at Sea

As the sun started to dip towards the horizon, the sunset was splendid to say the least. We watched as colors of pink, orange, yellow, and red danced across the sky painting it in the most beautiful shades. With the best seat on the ocean to take it all in, we raised a toast to all that brought us to Maui and those who were there with us.

Pride of Maui

Always a beautiful sight to take the time to watch the sun move towards sunset.

Sunset provides great lightening for pictures. Get experimental with shutter speeds and see what kind of glow you can create in your images.

Buffet Dinner on Pride of Maui

The boat came to a stop pulling into a little cove, as the smell of dinner called us back to the main level to find dinner had been served. All of the food was freshly prepared right on the boat and served hot off the grill. Guava and horseradish glazed baby back ribs were juicy and tender with an incredible amount of flavor. Maui onion tartlets, chicken, shrimp, grilled veggies, and artichoke dip with fresh garlic and Parmesan cheese served with warm crostini rounded out the menu. There was even dessert of local Kula strawberry shortcake with homemade whipped cream.

The guava glazed ribs were delicious, but messy.

Make sure to have a place to set your plate during dinner to make sure you don’t lose it. We had some strong gusts of wind come through the boat while eating.

Our time on the Pride of Maui was the perfect end to another incredible day on Maui. We experienced exceptional service, delicious food, fun entertainment, and an abundance of cocktails all while viewing the striking Maui coastline. For a one-of-a-kind Maui excursion, a sunset dinner cruise aboard the Pride of Maui cannot be missed.

*A note to families with children- Even though you can buy tickets to the Pride of Maui Sunset Dinner Cruise for those who are under 21, we would not recommend it. Children seemed out-of-place, bored, and not in their environment on the dinner cruise.

Have you ever been on a sunset dinner cruise?
